The color is just what I wanted--sort of a dark rusty brown-red. I read several comments about sizing issues and was concerned. I have a pair of Birkis about 10 years old and couldn't read the size on the sole very clearly. I usually wear 8's so ordered 39 regular though wondered if I shouldn't have ordered a 38 instead. When the 39s arrived they seem a tad longer than my other sandals. I watched an on-line video (Youtube) about how to fit Birkenstocks and the heel is supposed to be fully back and toes gripping the raised toe bar. I decided to exchange them for the 38's and they fit perfectly just as the video shows. So for Birkenstocks I will always go with the 38 regular's for my med-wide 8 size feet. The soft footbed is amazing and the oiled leather looks fantastic. These look much more feminine than the 10 year old unisex Arizona style birkis I have been wearing.
