All I wanted was some kind of light, plushy sleeve to protect my macbook air. I did my due diligence and checked out most of the other options out there on the internet. But I didn't need to disguise my computer as a tattered original dickens novel or need some flashy "look at me!" case, so I went ahead and ordered this one. I just got this case today and am happy to say that it has exceeded all my expectations. It is simple, yes, but has nice lining on the inside to protect your computer from scratches. No zippers means no scratching or TSA problems. The pictures don't quite show it, but there is a flap that extends over your computer to provide full coverage in protecting the computer. The outside has some protruding pattern so that you have some grip when holding onto the case. I often buy products and think, hmm, I woulda made it like this, or, I woulda changed that. I have no such thoughts about this case. It only opens from the one side pictured, so you can not slide your computer into and out of the case while keeping it in a backpack. The flap that you use to cover the edge of the computer where the case opens is also somewhat tight, so it doesn't just slide in like i imagined it would. This is a great case and the inside is padded so your computer does not get scratched, but it does have drawbacks to its opening design.
